Waterbom Bali Park Review

Family entry for 2 adults and 2 children (ours aged 4 & 6) was $140AU so its not cheap, but being the #1 park in Asia and the #2 in the world and a full day adventure its worth it.
You are not allowed to bring your own food or drink and they do full bag searches on the way in. This is because they want you to buy everything inside. You have been warned!
You are also forced to buy a wristband for 10,000 IDR ($1AU) and you are required to put money on it before you enter (I cant remember what the minimum was). This is because the whole park is cashless and everything is sold on the wristbands. There are top up stalls and ATM's inside if you do run out. Both the wristband deposit and any money you don't spend are fully refunded when you leave.
It is a good idea as you can can also hire a locker inside and you don't need to carry anything around with you.
You can also get another orange wristband and there are staff everywhere - including at the bottom of all the slides taking photos. They'll spot your orange wristbands and take photos of you here, there and everywhere. They are not intrusive or pushy and will happily take staged family photos where ever you like etc etc. These photos can later be viewed at one of the stalls and the photos cost $16au each for an A4 size (only size available) or about $66AU for all the photos on a USB.
The slides are great and there are also pools with bars in them to relax and have drinks in.
The kids will love it. We spent more than 6 hours there and were not bored at all.
Its a definite must visit. Your calves will be sore the following day from walking up all the stairs to the top of the slides!
~kaiser

We visited as a family group grandparents , parents and 4 kids aged 2-13.
There was something for all ages..The Lazy river was great for everyone and heaps of fun.
The kiddies playground had 3 little slides big enough to give the 2 year old a thrill with mummy or daddy.
3 slightly bigger slidescreen for the 6 year old (and she was just tall enough to go on the Python with Dad and her 2 older siblings ☺)
Their are several raft slides and mat slides for the older kids and Dad at varying speeds.
There is a couple of restaurants/cafes along with an open air food court with heaps of yummy choices.
we hired a cabana which had its own safe. If you don't have a cabana then you can hire lockers for your valuables.
You can hire towels for 10000rp. You do have to pay a deposit of 60000 per towel which you get back at the end of the day.
Everything is cashless so they give you a band with a Barcode that you load up. I put 1,000000rp (aprox AUD $100) and topped up another 1000000rp around lunchtime.
I hired the 8 person cabana, 250,000. Hired 6 towels, 60000rp and there was the refundable deposit 340,000rp. Total of 650000rp which is why I topped up at lunchtime.
At the end of the day when we handed the band back in we got about 1,300,000rp back so the whole day cost a little over 700000rp ($70) for the cabana, towels and lunch& drinks for 8.
There are a few rides that cost extra like the flow rider. We felt that there was more than enough to keep the family occupied without paying more money.
We bought our tickets via Groupon for $177 for 2adults 2 kids. Look around for specials
All in all a good day.

I was sceptic going to the Waterbom - mainly because I wear contacts and I've never really ventured to water parks.
I took goggles with me and thought I'd give them a try. Rides with goggles were not a problem and made it easy for me to enjoy the rides.
As for the park itself, what a place. I was surprised at how well run it was - the staff were very professional and friendly. The food was delicious and not dear - which really surprised me. The guys taking the photos were awesome too - we got some great photos of our day.
We took the total package, which I have to say wasn't cheap, but for 2 people (and a gazebo) for $200, we got, our own entry, welcome drink and cold towel. Shown to the gazebo which had a locker, and towels. A choice of an activity - we chose the massage, as well as lunch and a drink (non alcoholic). It may have been dear, but it was worth it. The massage for a start was fantastic. We really thought it was going to be loud and noisy as it was outside, but it was one of the best I've had in Bali. The lunch, we chose burgers, and both were delicious, washed down by a really nice smoothie.
It was a truly great day out. We were there from 10 - 6 and barely waited more than 10 mins for any of the rides. No wonder it has such great reviews. What a day!
~michele

Cost to get in 540,000 local, about £34.00
We arrived at around 10:00 am, not very busy,
As you pay, they give you an electronic wristband held on by Velcro, you can then as you pay, add
Funds to the band, because no money is taken inside the park, all food and drinks stands deduct from your band, also good for kids as
Well.
As you enter the park, down to your left is the lockers, you give a 10,000 deposit off your band and you are then given a separate Velcro band, again digital to open and close your locker.
Just remember to leave valuables as well as t shirts (they will slow you down on rides) and shoes and footwear, there are drop points at each ride entrance for these things.
Be prepared for some step climbing for the tall rides...
They have a great assortment of rides of different thrills, and if you want to take it easy, then grab an inflatable ring and drift along the lazy river, which one ride actually enters.
Be warned , there is a ride at the back that will not allow you to ride if your clothing has zips, or metal studs or anything metal, mine had these tiny little metal mesh holes at the bottom of the back pockets... because of this, no ride, but it was just the one ride.
Also for the gents, there is a ride that uses a blue mat, curled up at the front with built in handles, that you ride face down on your front , trust me when I tell you this, kneel up slightly,
Because if you don't, as a man it can hurt a little bit if you catch my drift..
There are photographers around offering you your pictures they take as you come down a ride, if you say yes, they give you another Velcro band to take to the photo booth, otherwise just say no thanks, no pushy sales, very calm and good
Plenty of fast and exciting rides, as well as calmer ones, the queues were at the most 5 min long, and all the staff were great, health and safety was spot on, and the price of food and beverages were as you would expect, higher than normal but not to stupid.
The way the park was arranged, set up and run was fantastic, and even the water used was not chlorine over load,
When you leave, head to the exit, and any money left on your band is refunded .
We decided to walk back to our hotel in Kuta at Poppies 1, from the park to Kuta beach took on foot about 15 minutes .
~nick

We love the waterbom. Although it's a bit more expensive then we would like it's a full day out and our kids (and us) looooove it! We arrived as soon as they were opened and left at about 4:30. We were able to get a cabana which made life a lot easier but there is a section with a heap of pool lounges which would have been good if we weren't able to get a cabana. The pools & slides are so great - if we tried to pick on anything there wouldn't be anything to pick on.
Hint: if you want to do the bigger rides/slides do them early or late in the day as the line ups are huge in the middle of the day.
~pat

Always a great day out. Was really busy when we went, with considerable waits for rides. But wasn't hideously long. In fact it gave you plenty of time to catch your breath and recover from the long walks up to the top. Ha ha
Staff always so friendly and helpful.
The rides were fun!
Great variety of food on offer at the Food Court.
Not enjoying the prices tho. Just seems to be getting pricier each time.
In regards to the photos they take, they are always changing the packages - asking for more $$$ but giving you less printed images! 800,000Rupiah for 6 5x7 prints and up to 100 images to download from a website. Not cool, Waterbom!
Or 160,000 Rupiah for one photo (6x8 or 8x10...can't remember which size).
Was disappointed that I wasn't offered a group price (21 people - 20 adults and 1 under 12) when I contacted them prior to leaving home to see if there was one available. Was advised that because they are busy in January, they couldn't offer me one. And told me to come back in February and they will offer me a group price then! LOL We weren't holidaying in Feb!
Again, not cool Waterbom!
Will consider going to the other waterparks next time. They are starting to get popular and are considerably cheaper!
~taylor

Very well organised, pay a deposit for a locker so no need to carry all your belongings around the park with you, hire a towel for small fee. The park is very clean and feels like its own little paradise. Staff are very friendly, plenty of food options at reasonable prices and they cater for Gluten free, dairy free and vegan. The rides are very fun and feel very safe and hygienic.
~hannah

We always go to Waterbom when we are in Bali (annually), even though we are from the Gold Coast. Waterbom is a fantastic day out. Tickets can be purchased at discounted rates from hotels, ticket booths and some fixed price shops, so shop around. Just don't get sucked in to the guys on the street with the timeshare cards offering free Waterbom tickets. This year it was raining and blowing a gale but we decided to go anyway. As soon as we got there the rain and wind stopped and only rained again at lunch while we were relaxing under our cabanas. The rain then stopped again for more afternoon rides. With low season and rain, there were no lines at all to speak of. To be honest, even in peak holiday time the lines are not too bad. My tips are to get to the park early to secure your cabana (always get one, for rain, shade or just to relax). Cabanas are SO cheap. ($25 for a family cabana). We had 2 families so we got cabanas 12 and 13 which face each other with a covered roof joining the 2, so when rain came, we were all dry and could chat to each other. All cabanas now come with a personal safe, which was excellent. Rides are excellent and there are rides to suit babies to hard to please teenagers. All rides are safe and the water is clean and safe. (I have accidentally swallowed heaps). The park is cashless. I suggest putting Rp 1million (AU$100.00) on your band for a family of 3 - 4, if hiring a cabana and having lunch. You will get any money you do not spend refunded. The lunch area has many options and all are reasonably priced for a theme park. There are also coffee, cream, popcorn etc stands around the park for snacks. There are also bungee trampolines, balloon sideshows, foot spas, hair braids and massages at extra costs. You can get pass outs if you wish. There is also a Flowrider in park now, which you can prebook a session for. Certainly the Best waterpark in Bali and rated Second Best Worldwide. Certainly well deserved.
~steve

What better way to cool down from the humid days in Bali than to visit this well run waterpark. Waterbom has fine tuned every aspect of making a day just wonderful. We chose a VIP package and it was truly lovely to be treated like royalty! A cashless facility, it is made easy by placing a nominated amount of money in your "account" and then flashing your wristband whenever you wanted to purchase something. Our bungalow was a good purchase as it has a number combination safe to be able to secure all our passports, wallets etc. The photographers all over the park captured some amazing photos and by simply showing them one of your wristbands, they were automatically linked to your name. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
~lee

Visited this waterpark during our vacation in Bali! Waterbom is located in a convenient part of Bali, just north of the airport. The admission was not too bad (hint: buy discounted tickets online prior to visiting!). They don't use cash inside the park, which can be both good (no cash to drag around everywhere) or bad (if you run out of money on the wristband, you have to go back to your locker, get money, and wait in a line to add credit to it). The park is not too big, you can walk the entire park and ride all the rides in a couple of hours, just depends on how you want to spend your day! The staff was welcoming, they had water rides for all ages and levels of thrill-seekers, which was great! The only negative I would say is that they sell and allow glass bottles of beverages inside the park, which could be a danger is someone drops and breaks! All in all, a good time!
~paul

Went there for the 2nd time, a little steep at $52 entrance fee, but really awesome day out as a couple or with a group! Some queues, as expected in parks like these but the awesome staff and quality of rides make up for that :)
Great choice of foods and activities! Will be back!
Great value for money as you can spend the whole day there from 9am to 6pm!
~silvia

As per the title, very expensive to get in. $52 Australian. We were fortunate enough to go to one of the information booths and get tickets for $45, so hunt around. That's $14 saving for the two of us -lunch!
The rides were exceptional and they are well documented in many of the tourist brochures so I won't repeat them. Suffice to say they (the people in the know) have rated it the second best water attraction in the world.
My teen was up and down and around the rides - had a great time.
Our reason for not giving 5 stars is that there is no "supervisor" or "observer" special entrance price. I was the same price yet didn't go on any rides. There are massage areas, pedicure areas, dining options etc plenty of places where non-water sports people were able to spend money and yet we don't go into the waterbom because of the price.
There is a "pass-out" so you could leave the area during the day and get back in later.
Plenty of parking and for tourists, right in the heart of Kuta, so easy to get there.
Go first thing in morning, pass out for lunch at one of the many restaurants within walking distance, then go back in the afternoon to avoid the heat of the day.
If helpful, pls tick
~craig

I visited with 8 local friends. We had such an awesome day on the slides. This is a great place to go in a group. I don't think I would have enjoyed it so much alone or with just one other. I have read reviews complaining about the price but I felt is was good value for the fun time we had. People need to stop coming to Bali expecting everything to be really cheap. Just enjoy your time here. I recommend this place for sure. It's loads of fun.
~david

We are a couple aged 30 & decided to give this place a go one day as the weather was looking a little unsettled.
We turned up just after 10am after booking the package deal online & were greeted with welcoming & friendly staff. Everyone who works here seemed to be happy & really enjoy their jobs which is lovely to see!
We paid around £55 each & that included entrance fee, locker, towel, 1 main lunch course & a non alcoholic drink & spa treatment. We were very very impressed with the whole place.
It is huge!!! But still the place is really clean & tidy. The toilets are lovely & clean which is always a huge plus point!!
The rides are fun & well laid out, the restaurant areas are nice with plenty of choice for everyone! The drinks are all reasonably priced and the smoothies were amazing!!
The way they have organised it with the wrist bands we thought was excellent. No need for cash or anything. Very easy system to use and made the whole day very easy, just need more money - top up your band! They have photographers dotted around the park who take pictures of you which you can then access at home via email & only use the ones you want (and all for free!)
Highly recommend this place for a day out and try the packages as seemed to save us a lot of money. And a spa treatment finished the day off nicely for us! You would never imagine that this gorgeous place is nestled within the craziness that is Seminyak! This place is suitable for all ages.
~janet

Fantastic way to spend a day in bali with the best water slides I have ever experienced. Good variety of slides for all ages. Good variety of food options for all, you cannot spend money in the park without a credit band which you preload with money upon entry. You can top this up inside the park and also have any outstanding balance refunded. The only downfall would be that there wasn't a great deal of sunbeds, although we did find some, I would anticipate that in the busier seasons it would be worth going early if you want to secure beds.
~natalie

I was being there last year, I was so happy. I went to Waterbom with my friends. We had fun so much with the rides. My favorite one is Phyton, soooo amazing. It's not scary at all but if you're type of a coward I don't think you will enjoy it. So fun and a lots to do there. Recommended for holiday with your family and friends. But don't be surprised if you hear a lot of shouting from the other.
~mark

We came here and spent 550,000 Indonesian rupiah which is about £30 , the attraction is great, it's big and so much fun. We came on a rainy day, so the queues were non existent but I assume in peak season this would be crazy getting into any ride! Despite that it is a good laugh and you won't regret going. I wouldn't say it is unique and you have to go, it's just a water park in my opinion.
~anne

We spent a day at Waterbom on our recent Bali trip. Although it was busy, there wasn't huge queues for rides - the biggest being around 15 minutes. The park is well staffed and serviced. Food is reasonably priced and was tasty. My one disappointment was the cost of the photos. It seemed out of proportion compared to everything else at Waterbom and we didn't buy them.
~john

Waterbom Park is a great day out. Don't get me wrong. I go there every visit to Bali. The park is well maintained and looks great.
However. This time around myself & my son got bali belly from the water. So for the next 24hours it was hell. My son was also diagnosed with RWI (Recreational Water illness) A mild chlorine poisoning. Please for your children's sake. As hard as it is, encourage them to not allow water to enter their mouths. I'm guessing the kiddies play land is worse than the rest. But otherwise it's a great day out.
~amber

We had an absolute fantastic day here. Wasn't over crowded, very affordable for a family. Very clean waterpark, toilets were spotless. Food court had a huge variety of different cuisine and everything was prepared and cooked fresh while you wait. Service was very friendly and prompt. Staff working on slides were very attentive especially when needing first aid. Love this place and perfect for people of all ages
~kim

A belated review on the park which we visited in August with our children aged 4 and 7 and I must say we had a wonderful time as the park has a lot to offer for all ages. The height restrictions are very generous which was good as it enabled our 4 year old to go on most rides.
The queuing was fair and the longest we stood in line was 20mins which was good considering we had young children.
There are some silly rules on some slides concerning poppers and studs which are used to close pockets as I had to wear my trunks inside out to avoid them damaging the slides.
The park and the changing rooms are very clean.
All in all we had a wonderful day at the park and I would recommend to all.
~scott

I live in QLD Australia and have been to Wet n Wild waterpark many times. This I would have to say is better run, cleaner and makes you feel as though you are in a jungle of sorts. Everything was purposeful and the food also was like dining in a proper international food court or restaurant. The options and the prices were incredible. It is a proper must do. Couldn't fault the place, if I had to really choose anything, was probably that an extra ride to give some more variety than what it already has would top it off.
~wilson

Lots of options for activities and slides for all. We always book a gazebo for the day with small kids I think this is a must and choosing the right one to compliment your day close to where you'll spend most of your time for us this is best the kids pool. Staff are great, food option good. But what the heck happen to the prices lol I've been going here for years and have noticed I huge price increase. For a family we always now spend close to $300 yes we do get all the extras and it can be done cheaper if you go without certain things. Bali in general has become much more expensive as a whole. All in all a fun day out for the whole family!
~angela

This water park was beautiful! The rides ranged from scary fun to just plain old fun! Even little kids could enjoy this park as it has some very calm and soothing areas. We did visit the park in October but it was still fairly busy. The price was expensive for Bali but given that everything else in the country was cheap, I was happy to pay the full price.
~mark

My husband, 13 year old son and I purchased a day package and highly recommend this when going to Waterbomb. The package included a private gazebo which overlooked the swimming pool, lunch and an extra activity which we chose as maddages....heavenly.... all of the rides were accessible and it was brilliant to have photographers hanging around to take smiling family shots... service and attendance was first class...the park environment was well manicured and lush and the ammenties, considering the number of people, spotlessly clean.... surely a number one stop for all visitors to Bali..
~miley

Waterbom park was the best water park we have ever been to. We we're two families each with a teenager. The park was spotless, the toilets at the end of the day were also. The staff were friendly an helpful. The rides brilliant an something for everyone, get there early for the loungers. The food choices at the park were incredible, and all made fresh at very reasonable prices. Allow a full day at the park to get the best out of it.
~harry

Went with daughter and 2 grandchildren -8yrs old. Thought at 62 I was past this (done when younger!) but managed to climb the stairs and go down quite a few rides! We went on opening so enjoyed a lot of rides before the park got busy. There is something for everyone from toddlers to grandparents. Very easy to get lost in the maze of paths so try to set allocation to meet up with other members of your group. You can hire a "gazebo" for the day, but we found other than lunch we were on the go all day, so would not have used one. Lockers provided for your personal items, but take as little as possible. Plenty of food places for any budget. Overall a wonderful day. Photos taken by the staff very expensive!
~martin

This waterpark has all categories of slides for various age groups. If you are coming with toddlers, then ‘Funtastic’ is the place they will love. It is a large wet playground most suited for small kids 6 and under, where water only ever reaches their knees. There are four tube slides, two short open slides, a climbing net, water jets, canons and a giant tipping water bucket offering hours of fun.
~peter

This is one not to be missed! Some amazing slides....if u dare? 3 of the slides have those drop bottoms absolutely class but very high! They do have normal slides for the softies and slides for kids but they really are not worth talking about.
Invest in a dri dock on your way through reception (about £15) can take them down the slides with you and under water! Trust them more from here than the cheap u buy on the streets.
Think the price is same no matter where u get tickets it costs 500,000 per person which is roughly £30 but get it from shop before as u can queue jump..... also go on a weekday.
~travolta

Visited with a large group and recommend heading there early to get a kabana as they sold out by 1030am.
This water park is value for money, good price (price varies check with hotel or your Bali tour guide to get the special price).
The park offered so many family fun slides, suitable for most ages / heights.
For the less adventurous there is lazy river, relaxing pool, endless food options, massages, fish feet feeding, hair braiding and so much more.
~tara

I was traveling alone and I find this place is super fun.. it does not matter what you choose to do there are plenty of choices, enjoying all the ride or just linger at the pool bar or dipping in the pool or just read your book on the lovely garden. Your choices..
Do not expect it to be quiet though as that is not going to happen.
It is a great place for family and friends gathering but even if you are alone, you wont feel it. Food and beverages are quite expensive, this is to be expected, but the price for the photo is too much.. 160k for 1 pcs!! If you are not traveling alone you wont pay for that price.
The lazy river is my favorite spot, I just can flowing in the water being lazy and all so great with water splashing here and there. And the pool bar is busy after lunch but the cool draught Bintang is a perfect drink to have in the cool water. Ooo and the kids water bucket.. love it love it!!
Entry fee is quite expensive too but since i came as early as 9am and leave at 5pm, i think it's worth it. Morning time was a perfect time to choose your spot, choose it wisely..
~katy

Family 2 adults 3 child age 9, 11,14. Kids had a fantastic day! they were able to go on all slides even the fastest scariest ones. Food was reasonably priced and good quality. We considered a cabana but glad we didn't get one as we didn't stop other than to eat lunch. We hired a locker that was refundable at end of day. Will definitely be going again.
~julie

Amazing waterpark that a small group of us enjoyed for the full day. I'd definitely recommend getting there early so you can jump on on all the slides without queuing. The only downside is that food is quite expensive and you can't bring your own, the other thing is that there isn't a decent pool just for swimming, there is one there but you're not even allowed to jump in the water or dive.
~thomas

This is a great day out for anyone that loves a waterslide. The variety of rides is great & caters to all levels of thrill seeking from the Climax where you drop vertically after the floor drops out from under you, to the lazy river ride. Our favourites were the Boomerang & the Python. We went in low season (Jan) so we hardly had to queue for any rides.
We recommend a rashie as some tubeless rides caused a few back abrasions from friction.
Food & drink operates via a prepaid waterproof wrist band which you can top up if it gets low, and it will get low given that the prices for food & drink are close to what you'll pay at home. You get a refund on any wrist band funds you don't spend. You can get pass outs so I recommend you grab lunch outside then re-enter as it is a lot cheaper that way.
Lockers are available & they have clean showers, toilets & change rooms.
~cook

I should say the waterpark is clean and staff is friendly. There are no huge lines. Usually we spent 15-20 minuted to get the ride. I personally didn't like the rides where people riding without tubes. It hurts. Be ready to get scratches on your back. They have some activities you must pay extra for. It was OK experience
~anna

Two of us had planned to visit Waterbom months ago, and we definitely weren't disappointed at our visit. Slides were such a good time, spas were lovely and so much option for food/beverages. What really made our day was the customer service and how great the staff were. The guys that were on the flow rider were just exceptional! Would highly recommend if you're after a day of fun and relaxation.
