Hanoi Train Station has many alternate names – Tran Quy Cap, Hang Co or Le Duan Train Station (since this place use to be grass selling area for horse). It was established in 1902 by the French Colonial, originally to serve the French Government in transporting coal and other minerals to Haiphong port, and from there to deliver to France. After 1945, the station became the place to transfer soldiers to the South.

In 1976, Hanoi Train Station was rebuilt the last time and now become one of the most important stations of Vietnam Railway System. Now it has 2 areas: Area A (located on Le Duan street) is for the Thong Nhat railways, from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh city. Area B (located on Tran Quy Cap street) is for others railways (to North highlands, for example). Nowadays the station are modernized and upgraded with free Wifi, and railroad infrastructure sees frequent maintenance services.

From Hanoi (The Capital of Vietnam), you can go to every where in Vietnam by train, special as Sapa, Hue, Danang... With the overnight train, you should take the Soft berth to sleep and you will feel more comfortable tomorrow morning. 

Hanoi railway station has two gates. The Main gate located at 120 Le Duan street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi. This Gate is usually for South-bound train. And the Station B located at Tran Quy Cap street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi usually for North train as Sapa.

Both of station have the waiting hall for passengers. You can wait for the train at there if you have a long time.

With the Tourist train, If You receive the vourcher, you will have to arrive at their office at Station to reconfirm the train tickets before you get in the train. You will see the address and the guide on the vourcher and you are be at the office 1 hour before your departure.

Hanoi to Sapa train schedule

If you want to head for the hills at Sapa, the best way to get there is to take the train from Hanoi to Lao Cai. Sapa has no railway station, but it's about 38 km (24 miles) from Lao Cai railway station and easily reached from there by bus, jeep or taxi in about 50 minutes. There are both daytime and overnight sleeper trains between Hanoi & Lao Cai, and on the sleeper trains you can choose between the normal Vietnamese railways sleepers or a whole series of privately-run sleeping-cars of a higher standard aimed at tourists.

SP3/SP4 also conveys several private sleeping-cars including the Hara Express, Orient Express, Green Express, Sapaly Express Train (Recommended) and Victoria Express Train, (Recommended)

SP7, SP8: Daily. Recommended train. Also conveys privately-run 'Livitrans' sleeping-cars for tourists, Livitrans Express (Recommended) and King Express

Hanoi to Hue train schedule.

The railway from Hanoi station to Hue station is about 688 Kilometers. There are 4 trains including SE1, SE3, SE5 and SE7 (which belong to Reunification Express train) train on this route. They depart every day and lost about 12 hours (From Hanoi to Hue). The types of seats include the hard seat, the soft seat, hard berth (6 berths) and the sort berth (4 berths), called cabin. Hanoi to Danang train schedule.

Vietnam-Railway.com sells train tickets for trains travelling from Hanoi to Danang. There are 4 trains that run every day on this route, including SE1, SE3, SE5, SE7. The average travel time is 14 hours 12 minutes. The best fare for the route from Hanoi to Danang is USD53 for hard berth and USD54 for soft berth. SE3 train departs at 23:00 from Hanoi - arrives at 13:12 in Danang.

Hanoi station has two stops. The Main station (Hanoi station) located at 120 Le Duan street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi and Hanoi station B located at Tran Quy Cap street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi.
