Hon Chen Temple is located in a mountain which is surrounded by the Song Huong (Perfume river) and the Truong Son mountains, the land is a bit sunken so they call it Ngoc Tran mountain. There is a temple built in this hill to tribute the Mother of Land named Po Nagar God, a God of Cham people, this women was teaching people to plan tree. There are temples which honor this God from centre to the north south of Vietnam. King in Nguyen Dynasty conferred the title of “Hong Nhan Pho Te Linh Ung Thuong God”. In March, 1832, Minh Mang King repaired and expanded the temple.
The celebration is delivered in the Minh Kinh Dai, the main temple located in the middle with the front faces the River. Minh Kinh Dai have three palace. The first Palace honored Thanh Mau Thien Y A Na, Van Huong Thanh Mau, King Dong Khanh picture and other noble Gods. The second Palace honors tens of statues, which are used for the procession in festival. The third Palace is to placed the drums and Gongs. This is the place for carried on the festival and for praying.
After the offering in first place is the procession of Thanh Mau in the Perfume River. The procession is at night so the lights reflect on the river sparklingly. Carrying the procession are the float which made from many small boats. When they reach the temple, there is a number of trance acting throughout the nights.
In the following morning, there is the main offering in the mutual house. Palanquin is carried back to the Hon Chen temple and in a similar order like the previous night.
