Adam and Hannah are an American travel blogging couple – known as Getting Stamped. They’re living the life of adventure, getting their passports stamped along the way. Recently they lapped up some luxury in Livingstone, Zambia when they stayed at Robin Pope Safari’s Stanley Safari Lodge.

“A trip to Livingstone in Zambia is a trip of a lifetime including one of the natural wonders of the world, the incredible Victoria Falls. However during a stay at Stanley Safari Lodge we found that the highlights don’t stop at the falls and here are our top 5 reasons to visit Livingstone and spend some time at the lodge.

1. The bed

At the Stanley Safari Lodge the bed is much more than just a place to rest your head. The rooms are done in an amazing open concept overlooking the Zambezi. From the bed you can even see the spray of Victoria Falls. At night millions of stars light up the African sky and you can stare at them while lying in bed. The bed is in such a great place you may not want, or need, to leave.

2. Nightly amazing sunsets

The Stanley Safari Lodge is perched on a hill overlooking the mighty Zambezi that feeds the Victoria Falls. It is in prime position for the beautiful display of colours that is almost a nightly occurrence. Intense pinks, oranges, and reds light up the sky as the sun begins to melt into the horizon. The colours linger deep into the night and stay until it’s time for dinner.

3. The food

Meal times at the Stanley Safari Lodge are a warm and personal experience. There is so much to do in Livingstone so the staff liaises with every guest for meal times so that they coordinate with their busy days. The menu changes daily and is full of tasty local and international favourites. Dinner can be had in the warm main lodge with candles all around, or down by the pool overlooking the valley and sunset.

4. The staff

What brings the Stanley Safari Lodge to life are the people. Every guest has a personal staff member to care for their needs while at the lodge. A personal concierge of sorts will organise meals, tours, and any other things you may need during your stay, and in the kitchen skilled chefs fill your plate with tasty food.

5. Hearing the lions in the distance at night

To come full circle, hearing the lions softly roaring in the distance is an amazing way to drift off to sleep. The open front chalets let you feel a part of the African bush. A safe distance away, you can just hear the lions’ low growls in the dark as you are tucked into your cozy bed. Hearing them assures you that you are in fact sleeping in Africa, in one of the best lodges on the continent, the Stanley Safari Lodge.”
