Phan Thiet Railway Station is a subsidiary station of Saigon Railway Station at the fishing town of Phan Thiet. It is where the North-South Railway, Vietnam begins to follow the beachfront, all the way up to Hue Railway Station.
Train from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh city) to Phan Thiet & Mui Ne
From Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) there are two trains which run daily to Mui Ne’s nearest station Phan Thiet. The first departs Saigon at 06.40am and the second at 17.40pm. Both trains take around four hours and are very reliable. A soft seat will cost you 175,000 ($8US). For this you’ll get a comfortable reclining seat with air-con and the offer of a food cart. A hard seat will set you back a mere 95,000 VND ($4.50US) and will get you a park bench with shuttered windows but no air-con. For those on a tight budget, the hard seat is more than suitable. However your journey will be considerably more comfortable with the soft seat option.

The seaside resort of Phan Thiet is at the end of a 15km branch line from Binh Thuan, a junction station on the main Saigon-Danang-Hue-Hanoi Reunification line, formerly known as Muong Man. Two direct trains run from Saigon to Phan Thiet every day, shown in the timetable below. When you arrive at Phan Thiet station you'll find plenty of buses & taxis waiting to take you to the popular resort of Mui Ne, 24km northeast of Phan Thiet, a 25-30 minute drive. Alternatively, you can take any mainline train from Saigon to Binh Thuan station and then a taxi to Pan Thiet (15.7km) or Mui Ne (38km).
Bus or taxi connection Phan Thiet station to Mui Ne: Bus number 9 (the red bus) runs from the road outside Phan Thiet station to Mui Ne every 20 minutes from 05:30 until 20:00, bus fare 6,000 dong ($0.30). The bus runs the length of Mui Ne stopping at various points all across the resort. Alternatively, there are plenty of taxis, it's a 25-35 minute drive and will cost in the region of 230,000 dong ($12).

The railway from Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan Province) to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh city) station is about 187 Kilometers. There is SPT1 train. The train departs every day and takes about 4 hours (From Phan Thiet to Saigon and return). The types of seats include the hard seat, the and soft seat. Each of the cabins is designed with the air-conditioner and the comfortable seat.

- From 2 to under 9 years old (and shorter than 1.3m): Price will be 50% of adult price for the North - South trains and and vice versa. But for trains Hanoi - Sapa and vice versa, the children will have to pay full price like the adults!
- Over 9 years old: 100% of adult price.
- Carry-on Bags: The train cabins are allowed to carry baggages not to exceed the weight limitation of 20 kgs of adults and 10 kgs of children. These baggages are wrapped neatly and reliably.
